Movie Review: A Little Thing Called Love

I kind of promised one of my friends to give a movie review about A Little Thing Called Love or as some know it as First Love.

First up! Before I continue this, I'll just warn you that there will be many spoilers in this review. But I'll try to limit it as I can.

First Love is a Thailand movie, which pleasantly suprised me. I've never watched anything Thailand and I find the movie quite good. Even with the language barrier, the casts have managed to convey their feelings through their act.

The story is your typical high school girl meets the famous school hearthrob as they fell in love. Nothing unusual about that. And there's no wierd twist or anything like that either! So what makes it special and loved anyway? Honestly? I don't even know. Maybe it's not really about the overview of the movie, but the tiny details. Maybe the reason why people loved the movie is because how the casts managed to evoke some feelings to the audience or maybe because they have a particular part of the movie which they loved. Maybe. That's just my biased opinion.

So anyways. That's the major hawk eye plot.
This next one is more detailed, though not scene by scene.

The highschool girl named Nam is a girl misfortuned with dark skin, unattractive mass of hair and glasses that hides the true beauty in her eyes. If she got the brains, then that wouldn't be a problem right? But that's not the case with Nam who's been struggling with her subjects except for English.

She had been forever harbouring a major crush on one of the school's heartthrob, Shone who a senior in her school.

The story will show how Nam strives to become a better girl for Shone, which is to be prettier and smarter.
She also have another goal to fulfill - to be the first of her class so that she can live with her father in America. The flaw in the story though is that you'll get a bit confused. Your mind will mostly think about the former goal rather than the latter.

So Nam did the best that she could to achieve her best with her bestfriends behind her to back her up.

You'll see makeovers gone wrong, catfights, drama queens, theater plays, friendships being tested, embarassing moments that'll make you want to cringe and also tears. lots and lots of tears.

Add a rival from both sides of the party and it'll heat things up.

This movie'll just throw you into Nam's life and experience her 3 years of work to capture her prince's heart.

I'm not going to tell you what's next 'cuz that'll ruin the fun! I've got the movie in my laptop so I can watch it again and again lol.
(spoiler picture coming through!)

You know how in english movies and stuff you'd think that they don't have teen actors and actress to play the parts in school-themed dramas/movies? (coughgleecough) I mean seriously. You're 20++ and you're supposed to potray a 16 year old? get real. If you looked young enough for the role then I'm okay with it but you're not. Pffft.
Well anyways and you know how the plot said that the girl/guy is ugly but in fact even if the casts wear nerdy stuff they still look good? What happened to the power of make-up and such?

The first time I saw Nam, I literally applauded at how they manage to transform her. You can see how she's different. That's what I call true to the story.

Well anyways, these are just my biased opinions, I would talk more but that'll give it away. So I'll just stop here. :) I hope you guys enjoy the movie!
